Beach Volleyball set for sophomore day regular season finale
RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake Tech beach volleyball is set to host Richard Bland on Friday in the final duals of the regular season. The Eagles are 4-7 (2-3 conf.) on the season, and a pair of wins on Friday would give them a winning record in conference play.
The last matchup with the Statesman ended with two losses, but in the second dual the Eagles lost narrowly, picking up two pairs.
Sophomores Morgan Barnes, Mary Barnes, Skylar Bakowski, and Madison Fisher will be recognized before the start of the first dual, with ceremonies expected to start at 12:35. These four sophomores were part of the first team to reach the NJCAA Beach Volleyball Championship a season ago, and have their fingerprints all over the program's record book.
Mary Barnes is third on the team this season in set point average (16.9) and fifth all-time in sets won.
The pair of Morgan Barnes and Skylar Bakowski are second all-time in program history in matches won (7), and sets won (19).
Madison Fisher currently leads the team in set point average (18.4) and is on a three-match winning streak, paird with freshman Autumn Dukawicz.
