Cecil College was never able to get over the hump and overcome its troubles against the Eagles on Saturday, as Cecil College fell 6-4 at Florence-Darlington CC after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning.
Cecil College scored on an error and a bases loaded walk by Elcloeth in the fifth inning and a sacrifice fly by Jefferson in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, Cecil College couldn't finish the comeback.
Keegan Woolford racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Eagles. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Hampton Thomas recorded the win for the Eagles. He allowed one run over three innings. Thomas struck out three, walked five and gave up three hits.
The game was never in doubt after the second, as the Eagles scored one run on an error.
The Eagles pushed across one run in both the third inning and the fifth. In the third, the Eagles scored on a passed ball, scoring Woolford.
Wake Tech quickly matched Cecil College's strong inning with a three-run inning of their own in the fourth. The Eagles scored on a two-run single by Woolford and an RBI double by Angel Santiago.
