Chesapeake Community College Holds on for 3-0 Win
Damon Ellis's effort not enough to carry the Eagles past Chesapeake CC, 3-0.
Damon Ellis did his best to change the outcome, but Ellis couldn't pilot the Eagles past Chesapeake CC as the Eagles lost 3-0 in seven innings at North Main Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Ellis baffled Chesapeake CC, striking out seven batters. Ellis allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks over four innings.
Michaud got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered three hits.
Austin Warren couldn't get it done on the mound for the Eagles, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed one run.
Chesapeake CC never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Hancock.
Chesapeake CC matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the seventh. In the fourth, Chesapeake scored on an RBI single by Stover, bringing home Shellenberger.
