Deep Run in Region X Tournament Earns Eagles Votes for NJCAA Top 20
Wake Tech dropped a heartbreaker to Patrick Henry Community College to wrap up the season, but not before being noticed.
The 2016 baseball season ended in dramatic fashion as Patrick Henry Community College rallied from an 8-1 deficit in the final four innings to defeat Wake Tech on a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning. The walk-off blast propelled Patrick Henry into the Region X Championship game while ending a deep run in the tournament for the Eagles.
Although the season is over for Wake Tech, the Eagles gained a lot of attention during the Region X tournament and garnered enough votes to sit on the outside of the Top 20. Here's a look at the latest NJCAA Division II, Top 20 Poll for May 18, 2016. Wake Tech finishes the season with a 30-21 record, with five players receiving individual honors for their outstanding play in Region X.
