The Eagles' Varsity I Rocket League team is competing in the 3v3 based esport where players maneuver cars to score goals in a soccer-like fashion.
"Rocket League requires such a high level of skill and communication. Watching our Eagles compete at this high of a level is truly amazing," said Wake Tech Esports Coordinator Chase Sommer when asked about this up and coming season.
Wake Tech Esports' Varsity 1 team averages Grand Champion 1, which is a higher rank than 99% of players.
"Being a part of the inaugural season of Wake Tech Esports team is so exciting. I'm excited for our team and confident we can win, but I'm also excited for the future of Wake Tech because there are big things coming!" said Nick Cox, also known as "Toasty" in-game, about the tournament.
The NJCAAE Pipeline Tournament is a stand-alone event designed to showcase the top 16 NJCAAE teams and to kickoff the regular season, which starts on February 8.
