Taisha Murphy resigns as head women's basketball coach
RALEIGH, NC – Taisha Murphy has resigned as head coach of the Wake Tech Women's Basketball program. Murphy has accepted a coaching position at a four-year school.
Murphy departs after one season as head coach, after spending her first year on staff as an assistant. In her one season at the helm, she led the Eagles to an 18-12 record (15-9 in conference play), and to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 10 Division II Tournament.
"I wish Coach Murphy the best in all of her future endeavors," Athletic Director Robin Pate said, "but our goals for this season have not changed. Our student-athletes will continue working with the staff in place to prepare for their upcoming season."
The Eagles get the 2024-25 campaign started on Friday, November 1 against Albany Tech.
