Women's soccer set to compete for South District Championship
MILLBROOK, Ala. — Wake Tech women's soccer will compete for the NJCAA South District Championship this weekend, starting with a semifinal against Southern Union State on Friday, October 31. The tournament will be played at The Fields at 17. Familiar Region 10 foes Cape Fear will play in the other semifinal, going up against Pensacola State. The two winners will meet in the championship game on Saturday. This marks the first time in program history that the team has advanced past the Region 10 tournament.
The Eagles earned an at-large bid after advancing to the Region 10 championship game, where they fell in a close contest against Cape Fear.
The Bison are 7-5-2 thus far, and are Region 22 champions after defeating Calhoun 6-0 in last Saturday's championship game.
The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the Division II Women's Soccer Championship, which starts November 16 in Wichita, Kan.
